Cabinetry is where a luxury home is won or lost: the gap on a drawer front, the grain running across a run of doors, the soft close you feel every morning. We draw every unit to the millimetre, build it in our own workshop and fit it with the same team, in solid Kenyan hardwoods or premium boards.

Building from abroad
You never pay ahead of the work.
For clients in the USA, Canada, Germany, Australia and beyond, payments follow independently valued progress on site. A typical schedule looks like this; we agree the exact stages in your contract.

How much does it cost to build a house in Kenya in 2026?
Our planning ranges for a new build are about KES 58,000–68,000 per m² for a standard finish, KES 98,000–122,000 for luxury and KES 145,000–190,000 for premium, including VAT. A 280 m² luxury maisonette therefore lands around KES 28–35M before land and approvals. Use our cost calculator for your size, location and imported materials, then we confirm the exact figure in a priced bill of quantities.
Can I build a house in Kenya while living abroad?
Yes. Most of our clients live in the USA, Canada, Germany or Australia. You pay only against independently valued, completed stages, you get dated weekly photo and video reports, and we hold a fixed weekly call in your time zone. One project manager is accountable for every trade.
Is Goldie Interiors licensed?
Yes. Goldie Interiors Limited is registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA), and we work with independent consultant architects on new builds.
Which areas do you serve?
We are based in Eldoret and serve Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kakamega, Bungoma, plus Nairobi and its environs: Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos, Murang'a. Projects elsewhere in Kenya are by arrangement.
What services do you offer?
Luxury interior design, design-and-build, renovation and fit-out, bespoke kitchens and cabinetry, bespoke bathrooms, wardrobes and joinery, gypsum and finishes, tile and stone, plumbing and electrics, glass and aluminium, security systems, custom solid-wood furniture, and landscaping, which we also offer as a standalone service.
How long does a bespoke kitchen take?
It depends on size and materials. As an example, our glass-and-granite kitchen in Cheptais was designed, made in our workshop and fitted in one month. We confirm a programme in writing before work starts.
What size of projects do you take on?
Mostly homes from two-bedroom apartments to villas, typically KES 10M–200M, delivered on 3, 6 or 12-month packages. We also take smaller kitchen, bathroom, wardrobe and furniture commissions.
Do you make custom furniture?
Yes. Our workshop builds solid-wood dining tables, chairs, consoles, sideboards, beds and benches to your size, timber and finish. Orders take a 50% deposit, and we confirm lead time in writing.

What will your home cost to build?
Set the size and scope, choose which materials to import, and compare Standard, Luxury and Premium finishes side by side. Figures are planning ranges; your priced BoQ gives the exact number.
Breakdown
Ranges are indicative and include VAT on construction. They exclude land, title and approval costs, external works beyond the house footprint and loose furniture unless imported furniture is ticked. Baseline: Architectural Association of Kenya per-m² cost data for 2025, adjusted for 2026 price rises. Currency conversions are approximate.

Goldie Interiors Limited is a luxury interior design and construction firm based in Eldoret, serving the North Rift, Western Kenya and Nairobi, and clients building from abroad.
The firm was founded by Mauldine and Ridge Makwata. They saw how often beautiful designs were lost between the drawing and the site. A client would sign off a kitchen, then a different contractor would build something close to it. Finishes were substituted, trades blamed each other, and owners living abroad were sent photos they could not verify.
So we built one team that does all of it. Design and 3D visualisation, construction with independent consultant architects, every finishing trade under one project manager, and a workshop that makes the cabinetry itself. When something needs fixing, there is one person to call.
What we believe
Luxury is precision you can feel, honest materials and a process you can check. That is why we draw every cabinet to the millimetre, why we prefer solid Kenyan hardwoods where they suit the piece, and why every client receives dated progress video whether they live in Karen or Calgary.

The team
Mauldine and Ridge Makwata lead the firm and stay close to every client relationship. Each project has one dedicated project manager. Our studio team handles your enquiries and scheduling, our accounts team handles procurement and transparent costing, and our joiners and trades deliver on site.
