The brief
The family wanted a kitchen that felt warm at night and bright by day, with plenty of storage and somewhere to gather. The room is large, with an arched opening to the dining area and windows onto the garden.
The design
We split the room into two characters. On the inner wall, glass-fronted cabinets with woodgrain interiors and vertical LED strips turn everyday glassware into a display, framed by a fluted timber-effect cornice. Along the windows, cream handleless drawers keep the garden side calm and uncluttered.
The details
The island is wrapped in sintered stone with waterfall ends, which resists heat and scratches and needs no sealing. Black granite worktops run along every wall. A large-format marble-effect porcelain splashback keeps grout lines to a minimum, and LED strips under the plinths make the whole kitchen appear to float.
The result
The kitchen was designed, built in our workshop and fitted on site in one month, as part of whole-home works that continue around it.
