Interior designers in Nairobi: who we are and where we are based

We want to be straightforward about this. Our office is in Eldoret, at Zion Mall B2, Uganda Road, Ronald Ngala Street, and we do not have a studio in Nairobi. What we do have is a team that works in the Nairobi region: we come to you for site visits, and clients in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a work with the same process as everyone else. Consultations can be a site walk or a video call. Our interior design in Nairobi follows the same steps as everywhere else we work: a first conversation, drawings you approve, then a build run by one project manager.

What a Nairobi project looks like

We have finished homes in both Nairobi and Kiambu. In Runda, a buyer had a ready-to-occupy villa and wanted it to feel homely and stand out. We designed a concept, then built gypsum ceilings with lighting and a TV unit with an electric fireplace, added wainscoting and a bevelled mirror, and supplied the curtains, carpets and furniture. A quiet teal lounge, with no TV, became a retreat for reading.

In Kikuyu, we joined a family at construction stage and stayed until the home was complete. The double-volume living room, wrought-iron staircase, electric fireplace and black-and-gold dining room all came from the same plan, carried through by one team.

One project manager, even when the site is far from our office

Distance is the question we hear most, so here is how it works. Each project has one named project manager who is accountable for every trade, from gypsum and tile to plumbing, electrics and security. You receive dated photo and video reports every week and a fixed weekly call. Payments follow independently valued, completed work, and a retention is held until you are satisfied after handover.

The joinery is made in our workshop and brought to site, then fitted by the people who made it. Drawings for every piece of cabinetry are signed off by you before a board is cut, so you can see what you are getting while it is still on paper.

Choosing between interior design companies in Nairobi

There are many interior design companies in Nairobi, and a studio close to your home has real advantages. Whichever you choose, we would suggest asking the same few questions of each one:

  • Who is the one person accountable for every trade on site, and how often will you hear from them?
  • Is the joinery made in the firm’s own workshop, or ordered in, and will you sign off drawings before anything is cut?
  • Are payments tied to independently valued, completed work, and is a retention held after handover?
  • Will you see dated photos and video of the site, and can you see finished homes with the client’s written consent?

Those are the standards we hold ourselves to, and you can compare any firm against them.

Who this suits

  • Owners with a shell or a newly bought home who want it designed, finished and furnished by one firm.
  • Families renovating a home in Nairobi, Kiambu or the surrounding counties, room by room or all at once.
  • Kenyans abroad who own or are buying in the Nairobi region and need dated evidence they can trust.
  • Clients who value a bespoke kitchen, wardrobes or bathrooms over off-the-shelf units.

If you would rather meet a designer in a Nairobi showroom before anything else, we are probably not the right fit. If you want a well-run site and joinery made to the millimetre, we would be glad to talk.

What to prepare before your consultation

  • The address or area, and whether the home is a shell, new or lived in.
  • Plans or photos of the rooms, and any developer’s specification.
  • The rooms you want first, such as the kitchen, wardrobes or living areas.
  • A budget band and the date you would like to move in. Try the cost calculator for a first idea.

Questions clients ask

Interior design in Nairobi: your questions

Do you have a studio in Nairobi?

No. We are based in Eldoret and deliver in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a. We come to you for site visits, and consultations can be a site walk or a video call.

How can one team manage a site that far from Eldoret?

Every project has one named project manager accountable for every trade. You get dated weekly photo and video reports and a fixed weekly call, and payments follow independently valued, completed work.

Where is the cabinetry made?

In our own workshop. Each unit is drawn to the millimetre, signed off by you before cutting, and fitted by the people who made it.

Which areas near Nairobi do you serve?

Nairobi and its environs: Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a. Other parts of Kenya are by arrangement.

Are you one of the interior design companies in Nairobi?

We are a design-build company based in Eldoret that works in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a, without a Nairobi studio. You get site visits, one project manager and joinery from our own workshop.

Can I see finished work in the Nairobi region?

Yes. Our projects page shows a villa in Runda and a maisonette in Kikuyu, both published with the client’s written consent. We can talk through what was done in each.
