Bespoke kitchen cabinet designs in Kenya
Our bespoke kitchen cabinets in Kenya are drawn to the millimetre, made in our own workshop by our own joiners in solid Kenyan hardwoods or premium boards, and fitted by the people who made them. Every kitchen cabinet design starts as a shop drawing that you sign off before a board is cut.

What bespoke kitchen cabinets include
Cabinetry is where a luxury home is won or lost: the gap on a drawer front, the grain running across a run of doors, the soft close you feel every morning. A bespoke kitchen from Goldie Interiors covers the layout, the cabinets, the island, the stone or granite worktops, lighting and the fitting. The same approach applies to vanities, wardrobes, walk-in closets and media walls.
How a kitchen is made
- Consultation. A site walk or video call to understand how you cook, the size of the room and your budget band.
- Design and 3D. Concepts, material boards and a 3D view, so you see the kitchen before it exists.
- Shop drawings. Every unit is drawn to the millimetre, and you sign the drawings off before any board is cut.
- Made in our workshop. Our joiners build the carcasses, doors and drawers in our own workshop.
- Fitted by the makers. The people who built the cabinets fit them, then we snag, style and hand over with a care manual for every finish.
Solid wood, MDF or plywood
We prefer solid Kenyan hardwoods, such as mvule and African mahogany, where they suit the piece, and we use premium boards where they are the better choice. Each has a place, and we will explain the trade-offs for your kitchen rather than push one. Our article on solid wood or board for your kitchen sets out how we think about it.
MDF has honest strengths: it is flat and consistent, takes paint well and suits smooth painted doors and routed profiles. Its weakness is water. It swells if edges or cut-outs get wet and holds screws weakly in its edges, so under a sink plywood or a well-sealed carcass is the safer base. If you are looking at MDF kitchen cabinets, ask what the carcass and the wet-zone units are made from, and where the board comes from, because imported boards have carried a 30% excise duty since 1 July 2026.
Worktops, lighting and detail
Our Cheptais kitchen pairs black granite worktops with a sintered-stone island with waterfall ends, black-framed glass wall cabinets with integrated LED, and handleless cream base units with black recessed pulls. It was designed, made in our workshop and fitted in one month, while the rest of the home was still being finished. In Kachibora, a cream handleless kitchen sits beside a timber-slat bar front. The lighting there runs in the cabinets, under them and along the plinths.
What kitchen cabinets cost in Kenya
Published prices vary widely, so read them as one firm’s guide rather than a market price. One Nairobi studio’s 2026 guide puts fitted kitchen cabinets at roughly KES 12,000 to KES 28,000 per running foot. That makes a mid-size family kitchen about KES 250,000 to KES 450,000, and a large kitchen with stone worktops and tall units KES 450,000 to KES 800,000 or more. Another firm’s guide quotes much lower, KES 50,000 to KES 350,000 for custom cabinets. The gap is mostly material, hardware and what is left out of the quote.
Fully bespoke kitchens with integrated joinery fall outside those published ranges, which is why we draw and itemise each one. Our guide to how much kitchen cabinets cost in Kenya sets out the material tiers, worktops, hardware and what to look for in a quote.
Kitchen cabinets in Nairobi
Our workshop is in Eldoret, and we fit kitchen cabinets in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a as well as the North Rift. We do not have a Nairobi studio. We come to you for site visits, and the drawings are approved on paper or on screen before anything is cut. Read how a Nairobi project runs on our page for interior designers in Nairobi, and see our Runda villa for the finish we bring to the city.
Who it suits
Owners building or renovating a home who want one team accountable for the kitchen, from the first drawing to the last hinge. It suits clients who are not on site every day, including Kenyans abroad, because you get dated weekly photo and video reports and a fixed weekly call. Because the workshop and the fitters are ours, there is no gap between what was drawn and what is installed.
Where we make and fit kitchens
We are based in Eldoret and fit kitchens across the North Rift, Western Kenya and the Nairobi region: Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kakamega, Bungoma, Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a. See interior design in Eldoret or interior designers in Nairobi for how we work in each area.
What to prepare before your consultation
- A floor plan or room measurements, or photos if the kitchen is not yet built.
- How you cook, how many people use the kitchen and whether you entertain.
- The look you like, as photos or links, and any appliances you have already chosen.
- A budget band. Our guide to kitchen cabinet costs in Kenya explains how materials and worktops shape the bill.
Questions clients ask
Kitchen cabinets: your questions
Do you make the cabinets yourselves?
Yes. They are made in our own workshop by our joiners and fitted by the same team, so what you approved on paper is what is fitted in your kitchen.
How long does a bespoke kitchen take?
It depends on size and materials. As an example, our glass-and-granite kitchen in Cheptais was designed, made in our workshop and fitted in one month. We confirm a programme in writing before work starts.
What do I approve before you start cutting?
Shop drawings for every unit, drawn to the millimetre. You sign them off before a board is cut, along with the material and finish.
Solid wood, MDF or plywood: which should I choose?
We prefer solid Kenyan hardwoods where they suit the piece and use premium boards where they are the better choice. MDF suits painted doors but swells if it gets wet, so plywood or a well-sealed carcass is safer under a sink. We will draw and explain the options for your kitchen.
